JPs Software - Transparency

upDeutschFran├žais

This is a little collection of video-plugins for Pinnacles software Studio 9 (and 10). It is an early beta-release of the plugins, so use them at your own risc. Feel free to send feedback and comments. The plugin was tested under Windows XP with Studio 9.4 - but most of the effects should also run under Studio 10. Programming these video-effects is an hobby of mine, so the plugin can be used freely as defined by the Gnu Public License (version 2 or later, see file COPYING).

Attention: if you encounter watermarks from Pinnacle when using my plugins, just update to the latest version of JPsEffects!

News
A big thank you for your e-mails and help - especially by the people behind the Declic Video-FX Website. With your help I was able to create a version of JPsEffects for Studio 17 (and 16?). It's great to see that people still like the effects after so many years! A special thank you goes to Saby for the french translation and lots of bugfixes.

Documentation

Use this effect to make part of the video transparent.

At the moment you can only use this effect on the title-layer. It is used to make part of the title transparent. Which part this is can be selected with parameters.
Small hint: use Transform together with Transparency to further define your transparent regions.

Parameter
  • Type: here you can choose the area of the video that should be made transparent. Choose between horizontal (upper or lower part of the video), vertical (left or right part), oval (an oval in the center of the video clip), circle (as oval but circular), box (a rectangular part of the screen), holes (can be used to "shoot" some holes in your video), all (make everything transparent), and random (only make random pixel transparent.
  • Value: a value defining the position (for horizontal and vertical) or the size (oval, circle, and box) of the effect. For holes it defines the number of holes that should be cut out of the video.
  • Border: defines a border region between "totally transparent" and "totally opaque". For holes it is also used as a starting point for the random number generator. So for each value of border the holes are cut at diffrent positions.
  • Invert: used to invert the visible and transparent regions.
Screenshots
screenshot199Beam me up, Scotty! Use a video with people and place an image of the empty place on the title layer. Now use Transparency with type "random" or "all" on the title layer and use a value of 100%. Choose fade/out for the length of the beam sequence.
